June 16, 2026, at 6:30 p.m, come celebrate Juneteenth and the 110th anniversary of Wesley Chapel CME Church with a special screening of the documentary, Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom.

Featuring voices such as Opal Lee, the Grandmother of Juneteenth, Christian rapper Lacrae, and Texas scholars and historians, Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom makes clear the enduring connection between the strength of the Black church and the vitality of Black communities. The film traces the history of the holiday that commemorates the end of slavery and shines a light on the faithful people who continue to press for freedom, both then and now. Join us after for a community conversation and red velvet cake.

Suggested donation is $15, but no one will be turned away. All proceeds go to our mission to preserve Black history in Corsicana and to restore the Wesley Chapel CME building in a storytelling lab and community archive.
