Join us for Corsicana's 2nd Annual Juneteenth Slam & Open Mic—poetry, music, and a good time

Meetinghouse Revival's monthly open mic transforms in honor of Juneteenth. Enjoy powerful performances from local poets and musicians at Corsicana's 2nd Annual Juneteenth Slam & Open Mic!

Watch poets go head to head with lyricism, conviction, and storytelling. Hosted by internationally known spoken word artist Alysia Nicole Harris, the slam offers a chance to win a $100 cash prize. To compete, register below and come prepared with two original pieces under 3 minutes.

Musicians and non-competing poets can still share their work during the open mic portion. Please email meetinghouserevival@gmail.com to sign up. All topics are welcome, but we especially encourage works that honor the significance of this sacred occasion.

Meetinghouse Revival is a 501(c)(3) organization that collects, preserves, and celebrates the legacy of Corsicana’s Black communities. Through the revival of historically significant Black gathering places, intergenerational storytelling, and cultural education, we engage in Black place-keeping and interrupt cultural loss.
