Want to learn more about the history of some of Corsicana’s oldest institutions? Join us for a free walking tour of East Corsicana’s Historic Black Churches, presented by Preservation Texas and co-sponsored by the Corsicana Landmark Commission and the East Corsicana Historic Committee. This tour is a must for those interested in local history.

Meetinghouse Revival will be there as well, sharing information about our beloved Wesley Chapel CME with archival photographs and details from the building’s 136-year history. We will also share updates on our progress to restore the building to its former glory.

Wesley Chapel, along with First Independent, is one of Corsicana’s newest sites added to the National Register of Historic Places. Come and find out more about these sacred sites and others on Saturday, September 12.

We meet at Legacy Park, 200 N. 12th Street. Tour starts promptly at 9. There will be refreshments along the way but we encourage you to bring any umbrellas or water for the heat.
